John Bibbo, Jr. is President of Event Source and is a Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP). He has built the rental products company’s success on commitment to customer service, superlative product quality and selection, and state-of-the-art operations that are all backed by the expertise acquired during the company’s 30-year history.
Bibbo’s entrepreneurial spirit was honed from a young age. The Cleveland-based, family-owned Taylor Rental franchise was begun by his parents, John and Susan, in 1979. He, along with younger brothers Bryan and Kevin, grew up in the business learning every facet of its operations. In 1987, John Jr. assumed the position of Special Events Manager. Identifying the need to focus more exclusively on the special events ,in 1992, he was promoted to vice president of Taylor Rental Party Plus. Named to his current position in 2001, Bibbo has been responsible for over 300% growth of the company and its expansion into other locales.
Bibbo’s vision and realization of the 71,000 sq ft Cleveland facility was evidenced in the construction of the Event Source building in Valley View, which includes an immense showroom and centralized internal operations. It garnered the American Rental Association’s President’s Image Building Award in 2001, recognizing businesses that revitalize the image of the rental industry by building or renovating new stores.
Bibbo was one of the founding members of the Cleveland Chapter of International Special Events Society (ISES). In 2008 he served as its president and is also a memberof the Columbus chapter. ISES’ International Board of Governors presented him with the J. Robert Graves Pioneer award for championing a pioneering spirit in the industry. Identifying and setting trends for his clients, Bibbo’s ongoing involvement in the industry is reflected in his roles as founder of the Special Event Business Analysis Group (SEBAG); membership in the American Rental Association (ARA) since 1983and positions held on Tents and Events Ad Hoc committee for ARA, the Advertising and Marketing committee and the Party and Special Event Shared Interest Group.
